A Neighbour cut down my tree in Indiana

I live in Indiana. I love my trees – more than I love most of the people in my neighbourhood. Sadly, a neighbour who has been slowly erasing all of our trees for the last three years finally went too far.

A Neighbour cut down my tree. He had no right to do so, it was on my property. I called him and told him that he should not have done it. We argued for several minutes about this and then hung up with a mutual promise of talking about it again later.

I have a problem. My neighbour has cut down one of my trees. It was located on their property but leaned right into where my dishwasher and air conditioner are and it never caused a problem at all. They never warned me they were going to trim it or anything. Then, without warning they cut it down, destroying parts of my house in the process. I’m not sure who is at fault here since I live in Indiana and don’t know much about the law in this area.
